Simple Tomato Sauce
A versatile base sauce. Make a double batch and freeze half for busy weeknights.
Makes 4 servings
Cook the sauce.
- Olive oil, 2 tbsp
- Garlic, 3 cloves Minced.
- Onion, 1 Finely diced.
- Tomato passata, 680 g
- Basil, a few leaves Torn.
- Salt
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook garlic and onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Add passata, basil, and a pinch of salt. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
